This website provides nutrition and referral resources for nutritionists supporting children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) in Wisconsin. CYSHCN are kids who have chronic conditions that require health and other services beyond what is needed by most children. About one in four households in the U.S. include at least one child with a special health care need, according to the National Survey of Children’s Health.
Many CYSHCN have conditions that impact their nutritional needs and/or intake. This toolkit is a resource for nutritionists to promote optimal care for the CYSHCN and families they support.
The WIC Toolkit website is maintained by staff from the Waisman Center.
